Can I Give My Six Year Old Mylanta

guest post by Farah: Our commitment to human rights goes on!

Hello dear friends, people, fans and supporters of our volunteer work,

it is now quite a while since I published my last commentary.

has been happening a lot with me: I was allowed to participate as a freelance social worker in a great team and enable people to come back to work and address their problems.

I had the opportunity to interview in 2010 may be wonderful people, the thousands of spectators cheering serve as a model or make their openness courage.

my volunteer application is also very beneficial to me personally because I have now not only fans but also personalities made that our commitment to human rights and actively support discrimination against transgender people. The feeling of having something moves gives a strength and confidence.

I you would like to describe a brief example of why our commitment is so important:

After I had an employee of a large German insurance company showed our videos and present the project he was so excited that he the video link to all his colleagues sent round via email. This action then an employee has had the courage to come out as transgender, as he had lost his fear and was able to overcome.

I still could take up many such examples that I or we see can that really moved and our commitment is bearing fruit.

end, it is moving but only by combining our forces to be something that shows my example clearly listed. Had not committed employee had the courage to show his colleagues the round mail and would then not transgender colleague have been able to overcome his fear it would become not so great success.

So I want you all ask you to remain committed to:
  • Displays the videos and the blog all the people in your personal or professional environment
  • If you are self-trans-ident and the courage to also have to want, then give us an interview and paid so other people strength and hope
  • formed networks and support groups, thereby demonstrating that no one be left alone and hopeless, but that all offers of help are available
  • Take on role models, no matter whether their trans identical or are different, shows you, and give the people, react to the opportunity for you or you ever take note
  • not hidden you! Alone and isolated, you will probably never be questioned, you will not be discriminated against and rejected, but you also pay a high price
Also my personal adventure and my commitment to human rights continues. Since my last professional job was temporary and ended shortly before Christmas, I'm back on tour for this job. I can call on many different social institutions, businesses and government, thus making due to my appearance important educational work. Most of these people have a transgender woman or a social worker like me and I have never seen the opportunity to build in direct contact with fears and prejudices and to answer questions. Sometimes I would like but know that I would not have to make this educational work during my own job interview, for that is admittedly better than one Challenge demanding and very beautiful.

In this sense I wish you much strength and all the best for 2011 and ask all of you involved!

Best wishes to you send your presenter and reporter Farah

... and do not forget in 2011 is: Human dignity is inviolable!
